Curriculum Rationale and Design

In this section the curriculum intent, implementation and impact is explained in detail.  The final document provides the evidence and research we have used to explain our approaches to the curriculum we provide and how this develops children's learning over time, connecting skills, key concepts and knowledge.
Our curriculum has been designed using our school values and vision statement to create the three pillars of ‘Our World, Our Community and Our Environment’ as well as being underpinned by the National Curriculum with progression mapped using DFE approved schemes, research-informed schemes (includes Chris Quigley Essentials Curriculum and Kapow) and school plans developed with consultants. Children experience the breadth of the National Curriculum as well as learning opportunities designed to celebrate and further understand the school context and local area whilst helping children embrace our mission statement of ‘love thy neighbour.'
