Year 6 Childwall Synagogue Trip

9th January 2013

A short trip through the tunnel landed the Year 6 children in Liverpool.  Driving through the mist the bus emerged at Childwall Orthodox Synagogue.  The trip was in aid of the upcoming topic on the religion of Judaism.

The children saw authentic Jewish clothing, scrolls and other artefacts.  Different ceremonies were explained and the stories behind all the artefacts were revealed. The difference in the Jewish week was an interesting difference between the cultures, with the new day starting when darkness falls on the previous day.

A huge thank you to the tour guide for his wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm.
