Personal Statement

I am a Co-opted Governor, and I was elected in 2021. I have 10 years teaching experience, leading maths in primary, secondary, and higher education settings with some exciting results.

Until April 2021, I worked at Liverpool Hope University within the School of Education. I was the Regional Placement Lead for the BA QTS second year students, and I was a tutor on the primary maths course for Years 1-3 and PGCE. I am an accredited Senior Leader in Education for primary mathematics, and I have recently achieved a FHEA Fellowship.

In my current role as head of primary maths at Teach First I have developed my expertise in curriculum design particularly in terms of subject rigour and subject specificity, writing, developing and delivering the asynchronous and synchronous content for Early Years and Primary mathematics and the foundation subjects, which has shaped my understanding of and ability to critically support a broad and balanced curriculum.

In addition to this, I am working with London South East Plus and London Thames Maths Hubs to lead their strengthening partnerships with ITT partners workgroup, to support national ITT partners in their delivery of primary mathematics to support trainee teachers.

It is a privilege to be a part of such an excellent school with research driven ethos and forward-thinking attitude that is built upon a Christian ethos.
