Year 4 Trip to West Wirral Works

11th April 2013

In the fabulous facilities of West Wirral Works Year 4 were set up to create their own animal face torches!

The use of CAD & CAM is ever increasing in the modern world and the children weer given a sneak peak into the many uses of this technology.  Working with a laser cutter, a sticker machine and PCs - a personal design for each child was printed and foam shape created to fit inside. The children then assembled their torches with an LED, batteries, foam and stickers.  The torches operate by squeezing the two sides of the LED together to touch the batteries and create the circuit.
