Computing

At St. Bridget’s, our vision for computing is to empower children with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive in a digital world. Throughout their journey with us, our children will develop competence in coding for a variety of practical and inventive purposes. They will be encouraged to apply these skills across the curriculum, using computing as a tool to support and enhance learning in other subjects.

We aim to ensure that all pupils understand how to connect with others safely and respectfully. They will learn the importance of acting within the law and upholding moral and ethical integrity in their digital interactions. Online safety and digital responsibility are core elements of our curriculum.

Our children will also develop a clear understanding of the connected nature of digital devices and systems, enabling them to navigate and make sense of the increasingly networked world around them.

In addition, pupils will gain the ability to communicate their ideas effectively using a variety of digital applications and devices across different areas of learning. This will help them to become articulate, creative, and confident users of technology.

Finally, students will learn how to collect, organise, and manipulate data efficiently and responsibly. These skills will prepare them not only for further education but also for a future where data literacy is essential.
