R.E. Vision
At St. Bridget’s, Religious Education (RE) holds a central place in our curriculum. We believe that high-quality RE enables every child to flourish—intellectually, personally, and spiritually—and to live life in all its fullness.
Our vision for RE is rooted in nurturing the whole child. It supports our pupils’ personal growth, academic development, and spiritual understanding, aligning with and enriching our school’s broader vision. We aim to equip our children to become compassionate, informed global citizens—both today and in the future.
RE at St. Bridget’s is a rigorous academic subject, planned, taught, and assessed with the same high standards as all other areas of learning. At the same time, we recognise the unique nature of RE and the many ways in which it is shaped by and contributes to the wider life of our school.
We follow an enquiry-based approach to teaching RE, drawing on theology, philosophy, and ethics to offer a rich and balanced curriculum. This approach encourages critical thinking, respectful dialogue, and deep reflection.
Above all, we understand that effective RE helps to cultivate dignity, respect, and an inclusive mindset—essential values for living well together in a diverse world.
