Extra-Curricular

Extra-Curricular Activities

At St. Bridget’s, we believe in the importance of offering a rich, well-rounded experience that helps children discover their interests, develop new skills, and grow in confidence. Throughout the year, we provide a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities to enrich pupils’ learning and support their personal development.

Our clubs and activities are run before school, during the school day, and after school, allowing as many children as possible to take part. These activities span a wide range of interests – from the arts and sports to academic and practical skills – and help our children develop their talents, work collaboratively, and enjoy new challenges.

We offer a diverse programme that includes:

  • Sporting clubs such as fencing, judo, dodgeball, netball, football, athletics, cross country, gymnastics, and tag rugby – with regular participation in local and regional competitions.

  • Creative and academic clubs including chess (taught to all Year 3 children and entered into regional competitions), computing, and art.

  • Music and performance through our Key Stage 2 Choir, which performs regularly at community events, and maypole dancing, which celebrates tradition and rhythm.

  • Outdoor and practical experiences such as gardening in our class growing beds and residential trips in Years 2, 4, and 6.

Each term, we offer a refreshed timetable of clubs, led by school staff and external providers such as Edsential, ensuring high-quality experiences across the board.

At St. Bridget’s, we are proud to offer all our pupils the opportunity to explore their interests, try something new, and take part in a vibrant school life beyond the classroom.
