This Autumn, we are embarking on an exciting voyage of discovery as historians, exploring the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt and comparing this remarkable civilisation with others that existed at the same time. As we learn more about the world around us and how people use and interact with the land, we will follow the children’s interests and curiosities, weaving these into our rich and varied curriculum. To bring our learning to life, we will visit the World Museum in Liverpool, where we will take part in an exciting workshop. We will also explore painting, mixed media and sewing through our Art and DT projects. In Science, we will investigate the different states of matter that make up the world around us and discover how sounds are created and travel.
Our school mission statement, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’, together with our school values, will underpin all aspects of our learning. During our first days together in September, we will work collaboratively to create our Class Charter, establishing a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels valued, respected and ready to learn.
We would love your support at home by encouraging your child to research any aspect of Ancient Egypt. They could collect interesting facts, pictures, artefacts or other interesting information to share with the class. We will encourage the children to bring their discoveries into school and share their knowledge, questions and enthusiasm with others throughout our project.
We are very much looking forward to an exciting term filled with curiosity, creativity, discovery and plenty of opportunities to learn together.
